Job Summary / Basic Function:

Job Summary:The Accounting Clerk III is responsible for performing various technical tasks related to the Cashier's Office and student accounts including support of daily operations. This is a non-exempt position, reporting to the Director of Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Daily recording of checks received via mail
• Processing payments of tuition and miscellaneous fees
• Reconciling the system and cash drawer daily
• Preparing daily bank deposits
• Running student refund process
• Maintain bad debt and collection records
• Releasing holds and issuing parking tags
• Entering students into the system for testing
• Maintaining supplies for postage machine, copier, and paper for line printer
• Handling NSF checks and collections for NSF checks
• Issuing Short Term Loans and assisting with 1098-T's. Back up for Mail Courier
• Other duties as needed

Physical Requirements:This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma with coursework in bookkeeping, data entry, etc.
• At least two to three years of experience in cashiering and lead cashiering duties
• Skilled in working with a computer, cash register and credit card terminal
• Ability to follow office policies and procedures
• Ability to assist students and parents with escalated questions on accounts while providing excellent customer service

Preferred Qualifications:

• An associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Knowledge of accounts payable processing and financial aid
• Experience in higher education with knowledge of Banner

Salary:

36,000.00
