Come invent the future by joining the Display Systems Research (DSR) group at Meta Reality Labs Research. Our work spans new VR headset concepts, novel types of computational displays and optical systems, and AI-driven graphics. Partner with research scientists, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software engineers to build cutting-edge prototypes and create the AR/VR technology that will bring people together across the globe.We are looking for an exceptional PhD student with a proven track record in developing algorithms for solving computer vision and graphics problems (e.g., neural rendering, view synthesis, dynamic reconstruction).Our team at Meta Reality Labs offers twelve (12) to twenty four (24) week long internships and we have various start dates throughout the year. Some projects may require a minimum of sixteen (16) consecutive weeks.
AI Research Scientist Intern, 3D Computer Vision and Graphics, Media (PhD) Responsibilities:
- Conceive and develop 3D computer vision and generative imaging algorithms
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers from a variety of technical backgrounds through all stages of project development
- Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of deep learning, computer vision, computer graphics or related technical fields
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored publications in SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, etc.
- 2+ years experience with deep learning software libraries such as PyTorch
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Machine learning experience in diffusion models, neural 3D reconstruction, neural rendering, view synthesis, computational photography or related topics
- Broad understanding of the full XR technology stack including, camera systems, graphics, near-eye display technology, and perceptual effects
- Experience deploying machine vision and rendering algorithms in entertainment production pipelines
- Past experience with cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship

$7,800/month to $11,293/month + benefits
