Alternate Format & Assistive Technology Coordinator🔍Vice Provost for Student Affairs, Stanford, California, United States📁Student Services📅Sep 13, 2024 Post Date📅104591 Requisition #This is a 4 year fixed term position.JOB PURPOSE:Stanford University has an immediate opening for an Alternate Format & Assistive Technology Coordinator in the Office of Accessible Education (OAE). This position will be in the Division of Student Affairs, which supports many student experiences outside the classroom in our residences, community centers, student organizations, health center, career education center, and more.

The mission of the Office of Accessible Education (OAE) is to promote an accessible and inclusive environment for all students with disabilities. Through both academic and housing accommodations, we work to mitigate physical and attitudinal barriers that students might face. We also strive to promote the inclusive environment they need to experience full membership in our diverse Stanford community.CORE DUTIES*:

    Oversee, review and administer student records by analyzing data, counseling students and providing recommendations that require interpretation and influence decisions. Make exceptions on issues of eligibility, course enrollment and program requirements.
    ○ Oversee legally mandated alternate format services by reviewing and prioritizing course materials for remediation, researching and providing accessible versions, and communicating with students regarding the status of their materials. Create and manage student-specific remediation jobs in OAE | CONNECT, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely dissemination of completed materials via Canvas. Prioritize tasks based on difficulty, deadlines, and course schedules, while coordinating with the Alt Format team and Alternate Format & Assistive Technology Manager to ensure all services are delivered effectively.Develop recommendations and collaborate with staff, faculty and other offices to resolve programmatic issues within the school and across functional units, (such as strategizing to ensure optimal enrollment).
○ Independently recommend assistive technology, resources, and OAE processes to students, based on approved accommodations and policies. Collaborate with students, Disability Advisors, faculty, and staff to assess needs and manage expectations
    Provide advice to students on a range of issues, including, but not limited to, academic progress, academic program policies, career plans, accessibility, community standards, etc., to guide them in making appropriate choices and decisions.
    ○ Respond to inquiries and provide training on alternate format services and assistive technologies, including self-service options like SCRIBE and enterprise solutions such as Speechify, enhancing accessibility resource awareness among students, staff, and faculty.Collect and analyze data from multiple sources including student feedback, surveys, trend reports, and data analytics. Prepare and summarize reports and make recommendations to enhance offerings, such as programs and courses and to influence current processes and policies.
○ Build reports and track alternate format production data pulled from Salesforce; consolidate student and OAE staff feedback; develop and make recommendations to enhance the alternate format operational processes and assistive technology offerings.
    Identify trends, perform needs analysis, and participate in the implementation and testing of new technology.
    ○ Independently analyze and track OAE alternate format and assistive technology trends and needs, participate in the review and implementation of new assistive technologies available for staff and student use.May provide oversight with the administration of financial processes such as financial reimbursements, data entry, reviewing terms and conditions regarding contracts, understanding vendor requirements, and following up and resolving issues.
○ Independently analyze and track OAE alternate format and assistive technology trends and needs, participate in the review and implementation of new assistive technologies available for staff and student use.
    May train and supervise other staff, volunteers, students and temporary workers.
    ○ May provide training to staff members, both internal and campus partners on the self-service alternate format resources (e.g., SCRIBE); enterprise assistive technologies (e.g., Speechify); and other accessibility resources.Other duties may also be assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education & Experience:
    Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google drive.Basic analysis and problem solving skills.Customer service skills.Relevant computer systems/technology experience.Understanding of financial transactions.Ability to learn and understand compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
    Hybrid position with 2-3 days onsiteAble to work on evenings and weekends, as needed

The expected pay range for this position is $66,560 to $80,000 per annum.
