Position Overview for the Application Analyst:
Epic Revenue Cycle System Design and Maintenance: Participate in the analysis, design, build validation, and ongoing maintenance of the Epic Professional Billing and Revenue Cycle systems. Document user workflows and design decisions thoroughly to ensure effective system functionality.
Issue Resolution and Vendor Coordination: Provide world-class customer service by resolving issues related to the Epic Revenue Cycle Application. Collaborate with peers and escalate issues when necessary, working directly with Epic vendor support (Implementation Services and/or Technical Services) to ensure timely problem resolution.
Leadership in Revenue Cycle Projects: Take initiative in championing Revenue Cycle systems, supporting the organization in achieving identified benefits. Lead special projects, demonstrate self-motivation, and offer constructive ideas for process improvements and system enhancements.
Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct critical analysis and testing of new Epic application features, including beta testing. Ensure high-quality implementations of system updates or new functionalities and proactively pursue problem resolution to satisfy customer needs.
Educational Background and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, with 3 years of experience in information technology or healthcare administration; or Associate degree with 4 years of related experience; or 5 years of relevant work experience in IT or healthcare operations such as Practice Management, Patient Financial Services, or Charge Integrity.
Epic System Experience and Certification: Experience implementing a Revenue Cycle System in a clinical setting, preferably within Epic applications such as Cadence, Prelude, or Professional Billing. Must achieve and maintain specific Epic Application Certifications within 6 months of employment and complete new version training to maintain certification.
Technical and Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on discovering, testing, and analyzing new Epic application features. Ability to manage multiple complex tasks, meet deadlines, and assess system problems as defined by users while maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.
Communication and Customer Service: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare staff, co-workers, and patients. Must demonstrate a caring, respectful attitude and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
