WHAT YOU'LL DO
An Application Architect specializing in Microsoft 365 is responsible for the design, development, operations, and support of our employee experience solutions, with a primary focus on collaboration, communication, and engagement tools within the Microsoft 365 platform, including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Yammer and Viva.
This role requires a deep understanding of SharePoint architecture, development, and administration, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. This role will also be responsible for implementing and utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) features within the Microsoft 365 platform based on the recommendations from our AI Center of Excellence.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Build no-code, low-code solutions in SharePoint Online (modern UI), Teams, and Viva to streamline and modernize the employee experience
- Design and develop solutions that integrate AI features into the M365 platform using Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Syntex, and Microsoft Graph
- Implement multi-faceted, audience-targeted and role-based solutions to create an immersive and global intranet experience
- Establish comprehensive content and communications publishing strategies, including templates, content types and approval workflows
- Partner with internal IT teams to establish a taxonomy that can be consumed throughout the Microsoft 365 ecosystem for AI, search optimization, workflows, audience targeting, etc.
- Develop flexible solutions in consideration of our highly mobile workforce, so that the modern workplace experience translates equally to mobile, hybrid and in-office employees
- Apply enterprise knowledge management principles to create robust search experiences
- Incorporate third party apps and connectors to integrate platforms
- Collaborate and partner with the IT Software Engineering team to integrate custom solutions built on the Power Platform
- Maintain and update existing website content. Proactively recommend and implement enhancements in support of new features and functionality as they are deployed by Microsoft
- Design visually appealing and functional sites, pages, and web parts
- Create lists, document libraries, dashboards, forms, and automated workflows
- Create and implement custom branding consistent with company standards
- Ensure the proper and consistent use, configuration, and application of Microsoft 365 platforms and associated components.
- Collaborate and partner with IT Operations and Infrastructure to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Collaborate and partner with the IT Security team to implement a proper security model and governance policies (e.g. IAM, DLP, Retention, etc)
- Support organizational content management and migration projects (BAU, on-prem to cloud migrations, company re-orgs, M&A, etc)
- Understand the current/future requirements of Microsoft SharePoint and other M365 products by following the Microsoft Roadmap
- Be proactive and take initiative by proposing ideas to reduce pain points and modernize processes; apply design thinking principles and techniques.
- Work within a CI/CD framework to create purpose-built applications on the Microsoft 365 platform
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Must-Haves: - Passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies
- Proven experience managing an intranet in a large company built on the SharePoint framework
- Excellent design sense and an ability to build visually appealing sites and content
- Proven experience with SharePoint migration and upgrade projects
- Proficiency in PowerShell
- Ability to accurately determine level of effort and deliver initiatives on time
- Collaborative and proactive work-style
- Excellent multitasking capabilities while adapting to changing priorities
- Solid organizational and business analysis skills
- Excellent attention to detail, while also keeping the big picture in mind
- 5+ years of modern SharePoint Online and Teams experience
- 1-3 years of experience with Microsoft 365 suite, including Stream, Forms, and Viva
- 1-3 years of experience developing low-code/no-code solutions using the Power Platform
Nice-To-Haves: - Experience with collaboration and communication solutions within a global environment
- Formal web design experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON) and/or SPFx framework
- Experience with Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity
- Experience working with CI/CD framework
