Summary

The Assistant Director of Health Promotion is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive health promotion initiatives on a variety of topics including alcohol and other drugs, stress management, sleep hygiene, and sexual health. The Assistant Director oversees initiatives that include, but are not limited to knowledge and skills acquisition workshops, community engagement, social marketing and communication, and a variety of other evidence informed interventions.
The Assistant Director supervises and oversees the peer health educators reporting to The Well for Health Promotion. This position co-chairs Campus Health committees and sits on a variety of campus-wide committees.
The Assistant Director is part of the Tulane University Campus Health team of committed professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting student health and wellbeing as a core institutional value through a multidisciplinary, comprehensive approach. This position resides within the Well for Health Promotion, and reports to the Associate Director of Health Promotion.

Required Qualifications

*Master's Degree (in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, Community Health Education, School Health, Higher Education, Health Communication, or a related field) with 1 year of experience in a health promotion or public health setting.OR*Bachelor's Degree (in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, Community Health Education, School Health, Higher Education, Health Communication, or a related field) with 4 years of experience in a health promotion or public health setting.

Preferred Qualifications

*3 years of experience in a college health setting.*Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification, Certified in Public Health (CPH) certification, or eligible to be certified within 6 months of hire.
*Experience advising a peer health education group.
