Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Applicants must have appropriate postgraduate board certification (ABMGG in Clinical Biochemical Genetics). Physicians must be eligible/licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
Teaching responsibilities may include fellows, residents, medical and graduate students.
Clinical responsibilities may include assisting in oversight of the Metabolic Lab, clinical test interpretation, quality control, innovation and test development.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include overseeing the research program aligned with the clinical laboratory needs for lysosomal storage disorder development, as well as working collaboratively in support of intuitional programs in gene therapy for inborn errors of metabolism.
The successful candidate will serve as Assistant Director of the Michael Palmieri Laboratory for Metabolic and Advanced Diagnostics. Demonstrated ability in advanced test development for lysosomal storage disorders (including glycosaminoglycans) along with mass spectrometry expertise is strongly preferred.
