Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job:This full-time, tenure-track (9 month) faculty member will teach 9 credit hours each Fall and Spring, demonstrate excellence in teaching Curriculum & Instruction in undergraduate Secondary Education courses. Supervise or support field- based courses and curricula and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students. Additionally, this faculty member will initiate and collaborate in interdisciplinary as well as content-targeted research and grant activities leading to scholarly publications and will participate fully in departmental, college, and university meetings and committees and seek to serve the profession at regional, state, and national levels through relevant professional organizations.
Ph.D./Ed.D. in Education, in Curriculum & Instruction, or closely related field
Three years of experience in a secondary school setting and a developed or developing research agenda in the field(s) of secondary education, teacher education, educational preparatory programs, or mentorship. Evidence that demonstrates the candidate's use of innovative teaching strategies to meet the needs of various learners and ability to create responsive environments for those students.
Preferred qualifications include:Working with field-based secondary school sites, university teaching, instructional coaching, and teaching online courses. Evidence of an established or emerging research agenda. Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at the university level. Established or emerging interest in writing and administering grants from a variety of internal and external sources. Demonstrated or potential for developing collaborative partnerships with community partners and other stake holders.
