SummaryThe Associate Director of Health Promotion is responsible for the management of the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive health promotion initiatives on a variety of topics. The Associate Director oversees the management of initiatives that include, but are not limited to BASICS, knowledge and skills acquisition workshops, community engagement, social marketing and communication, recovery, and a variety of other evidence informed interventions.
The Associate Director supervises the Assistant Director of Health Promotion and Health Promotion Specialists. This position co-chairs the Campus Health Alcohol and Other Drug Committee and sits on a variety of campus-wide committees. This position also assists the Director with a variety of tasks including budgeting, hiring, and onboarding, and staff training and supervision. This position manages The Well for Health Promotion when the Director is not available.
The Associate Director is part of the Tulane University Campus Health team of committed professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting student health and wellbeing as a core institutional value through a multidisciplinary, comprehensive approach. This position resides within the Well for Health Promotion, and reports to the Director of Health Promotion and Prevention Services.
*Master's Degree (in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, Community Health Education, School Health, Higher Education, Health Communication, or a related field) with 3 years of experience in a health promotion or public health setting.OR*Bachelor's Degree (in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, Community Health Education, School Health, Higher Education, Health Communication, or a related field) with 6 years of experience in a health promotion or public health setting.
Preferred Qualifications* 5 years of experience in a college health setting.* Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification, Certified in Public Health (CPH) certification, or eligible to be certified within 6 months of hire.* Experience advising a peer health education group.
