Job Description
This role provides direct crisis intervention services for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations in the Emergency Department and in hospital units. Completed psychiatric assessments and formulates dispositions with physicians, healthcare professionals, families, hospitals and community professionals. Applies knowledge of diagnostic criteria to evaluate and recommend appropriate level of care for behavioral health patients. Responsible for obtaining authorizations for inpatient services. Provides behavioral health education as needed.

Qualifications
Education & Training:Master's Degree in Human Services (i.e. Social Work, Professional Counseling) required. Currently licensed as a LGPC or LMSW in the state of Maryland required. LCPC or LCSW-C preferred
Work Orientation & Experience: Previous psychiatric clinical experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to: a) utilize critical decision-making under pressure; b) apply crisis intervention knowledge; b) accurately assess and advocate on behalf of patients; c) diffuse potentially violent situations; d) prioritize assignments; e) effectively communicate with healthcare providers within the health system and in the community.
