YOUR ROLE

This role will oversee customer billing operations for the Shipwire business unit to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to effectively manage a team and collaborate with various departments.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Oversee the preparation and issuance of invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure all billing activities comply with contract terms and applicable company policies
  • Collaborate with internal teams in the development and maintenance of billing systems, including automation and integrations with other financial systems
  • Prepare monthly accrual reporting for submission to the Finance team
  • Provide backup support for customer invoicing as needed
  • Lead and supervise the billing department, ensuring high levels of performance and employee engagement
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve billing processes, reduce errors, and enhance efficiencies
  • Mentor and train billing staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to reconcile billing with accounts receivable and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Work closely with customer success teams to resolve billing disputes and inquiries promptly.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners to address billing concerns and ensure satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate billing errors
  • Conduct regular audits of billing processes and systems and recommend/implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to enhance billing processes, systems, and technologies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, recommending and implementing innovative billing solutions.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in finance, accounting, or a related field

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing, finance, accounting or related field.

Specialist Knowledge & Skills:
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, analytics, etc.) required.
  • Previous experience in logistics or supply chain industry required.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Concise and clear professional communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Eager to learn more about supply chain topics
  • Good organization skills
  • Autonomous
