Job Summary

Vertiv is hiring a BRM Sr. Portfolio Manager (OCM & Deployments) in Westerville, Ohio. This role is a customer facing role that is critical to build and cultivate relationships with all levels of the business that lead to a trusted IT advisor. Being part of the IT vision and strategy by contributing to the current IT Portfolio around the planning & execution of OCM (organization change management) activities and project deployments space with a high priority around business adoption and success criteria measured and reported out for each project / deployment within the team. The role will also support the OCM for the IT BRM (Business Relationship Management) team as a whole working collaboratively with each BRM portfolio manager and director in the areas of process, people, and technology. The role will support the BRM director in all OCM tasks for key projects / programs as well.

Responsibilities:

  • The position requires proven experience in following industry standard business analysis techniques and methods to elicit and validate business requirements supporting OCM activities - Audience Analysis techniques.
  • Expertise in creating and delivering presentations at an executive level & management level to report out on key multiyear programs and projects that are smaller in scale. High focus on key decisions, adoption metrics, success criteria, and over all project status with clear ownership noted.
  • Expertise in communications using a variety of tools sets to support townhall messaging, broad messaging with suppliers / customers, monthly newsletters, and broadcast messaging perhaps on SP and Teams sites.
  • Share point and MS team working knowledge to support the collaboration practices within the BRM team and to the business functions supported by the BRM team. Be the owner of the sites that give the business a one stop shop for all things as it relates to software platforms that support the business team.
  • Ability to adapt to Vertiv branding and messaging by building a partnership with different teams within Vertiv to ensure compliance to Vertiv standards on OCM activities.
  • Experience in modeling business processes and defining business data models is required.
  • Effective planning and facilitation skills are critical to this role, including the ability to negotiate challenging differences of opinion between key stakeholders during meetings.
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process models, use cases, scenarios, storyboards, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • Interface with vendor partners and leverage / collaborate on ways to ensure smooth user readiness and adoption to ensure the value is realized for each project. Leverage best practices from the software vendors where possible.
  • Drive high level project management around deployments of software with a standard repeatable process / check list of key tasks that has focus on user readiness, user adoption, key tasks for technical team set ups and validation, with a process to validate success criteria set forth by the projects.
  • People management as it relates to employees, contract positions, and staff augmentation positions that maybe supporting the portfolio or deployments of key software programs being led by this role.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology Management or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 8-10 years of industry experience in Information Technology with focus on OCM / Deployment Practice.
  • Experience working in global corporation preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in business analysis roles with 2-3 years in manager position leading people or multiple projects / portfolios.
  • Be able to support some travel to meet with customers, IT teams across the globe
  • Experience using enterprise requirements elicitation and management tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of all phases of software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, development, testing (integration, user, and performance), implementation, and support
  • Effective facilitation skills are required to manage meetings effectively
  • Effective business case development skills are required
  • Ability to lead and negotiate business solutions that balance technical capability, cost, and time, against business need is required
  • Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously is required
  • Must possess strong leadership skills and generate enthusiasm among team members
  • Must be capable of functioning as an OCM Leader, SP / MS Team Solutions, and Project Manager for Deployments of projects from the BRM team.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and business customer mindsets is desired
  • Must be detailed-oriented and demonstrate diligence in holding self and stakeholders accountable to objectives
  • Must be fluent in English and the ability to interface with global teams and differing cultures is required
  • Ability to write and interpret reports, business correspondence, and/or procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and business customers
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems, involving many variables, in different situations
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to spot issues and identify patterns that may present risks or opportunities to projects
