The Computational Medicine Program (CMP) is a research centered program that aims to incorporate computational approaches into biomedical research. CMP occupies the 11th floor of the Mary Ellen Jones Building and houses the labs of 11 principal investigators (Rau, Miao, Marron, Vincent, Hoadley, Leiderman, Stanley, Rubinsteyn, Palmer, Purvis and Elston). Due to the rapid growth of CMP over the last 5 years (from 3 to 11 PIs), there has been a significant increase in both the magnitude and scope of the administrative support needed by the program. The Business Officer will handle all of CMP's financial needs, ensuring the program is compliant with all university, state and federal requirements, and forecasting annual spending. The Business Officer will aide PIs with grant reporting documents, management, maintenance, and forecasting of departmental costs, and the monitoring and provision of reports for F&A from PI grants and supervise the business service coordinator.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Entry-level with Masters; or Bachelors and 0-2 years experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:Must have post award experience, good communication skills and Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:Management experience, other support experience, running financial reports, and researching grant opportunities. An ability to distill insights from multiple sources of information into an executive-level overview. An ability to establish strong standing and respect within the organization. A strong understanding of business and policy issues faced by organizations in higher education.
