Stanford University has two immediate openings for Centralized Testing Center (CTC) Coordinators in the Office of Accessible Education (OAE). The OAE is the department within the division of Student Affairs which centers its work on case-by-case accommodation determinations and programmatic development for furthering accessibility and inclusion. We are charged with facilitating reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities in academic and residential life.

These are new two-year, fixed-term, and full-time positions reporting to the Centralized Exams Project Manager currently (and the Accommodations & CTC Manager moving forward).The CTC Coordinators will provide students with legally mandated testing accommodations in the newly created Centralized Testing Center in tandem with the Academic Integrity Working Group's (AIWG) proctoring pilot. This position is integral in furthering accessibility and inclusion for students with disabilities on campus and will work closely with campus partners to remove barriers to learning. In this role, you will:

  • Create a fair and equitable test environment at the newly created Centralized Testing Center (CTC) for accommodated and proctored exams.
  • Provide students with legally mandated testing accommodations at the CTC. by communicating with faculty, OAE colleagues, and administrative support staff.
  • Review exam accommodation requests for eligibility to test at CTC.
  • Monitor for newly added exam accommodation requests throughout the quarter and respond nimbly.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and in-depth understanding of processes and procedures for the coordination of testing accommodations and day-of exam-event.
  • Create and maintain accurate, detailed exam and student records within Salesforce.
  • Communicate with students about expectations, procedures, preparations, and exam details for testing at the CTC.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of student information.
  • Schedule space and resources, including assistive technology required during exams (e.g. scrubbed laptops, large monitors, etc)
  • Utilize and improve existing exam check-in, exam room security, and exam administration processes for exams.
  • Independently utilize professional judgment and initiate recommendations and resolutions for routine issues associated with proctoring to ensure academic integrity and fair and standard procedures across all proctored exams in the pilot.
  • Respond to inquiries, provide advice, and manage expectations when communicating with students, staff, and faculty about the range of exam services and assistive technology options available (e.g. scrubbed laptops) or other exam accommodations supported on-site at the CTC).
  • Address urgent, time-sensitive student issues at the CTC, which may include identifying students in crisis and referring them to appropriate resources as needed.
  • Maintain electronic exam records in Salesforce database in compliance with Federal, State, and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Independently analyze OAE trends and from first-line student interactions, identify process gaps and develop recommendations and solutions that will support a smooth testing experience especially regarding space and resource usage, staff scheduling, and exam operations.
  • In collaboration with departmental SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), periodically test, evaluate and deploy assistive technology used in the CTC.
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy of routine financial transactions which may include researching and resolving discrepancies.
  • Hire, train, and schedule students employees as exam assistants, in consultation with Accommodations & CTC Manager.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and management.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Sound judgment.
  • Knowledge and embodiment of diversity and inclusion best practices. Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups from various identities, cultures, and backgrounds.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • A willingness to take on new challenges in a dynamic and changing environment and work gracefully under pressure.
  • Computing fluency, including experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
  • Understanding of financial transactions.
  • Ability to learn and understand compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

In addition, preferred qualifications include:

  • Excellent organizational skills including an ability to oversee a wide variety of activities, to anticipate pitfalls, to propose and implement effective solutions, while being able to set and re-adjust often competing priorities.
  • High level of energy, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience with Slack and Salesforce.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a hybrid position which requires 3-4 days of onsite work per week. Additional onsite days may be scheduled, as needed, to meet student and departmental needs.
  • Candidates must be able to work evenings/nights frequently during peak exam periods; the CTC does not permit work schedule flexibility during peak exam times. Weekend availability is seldom needed.

The expected pay range for this position is $77,397 - $83,500 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
