The Division of Breast Imaging in the Department of Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained candidate for a full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Professor in the Clinical Educator Track.
Job Functions:
- Responsibilities will include providing clinical imaging services, mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and intervention.
- Faculty candidate will participate in teaching residents, breast imaging fellows and medical students.
- Participation in clinical research, journal club, and weekly multidisciplinary conferences.
- Able to serve on Departmental committees as requested by the Chair of Radiology.
- Able to recruit, train, and mentor other faculty and staff physicians.
- Conducting research and publishing papers in academic journals.
- Representing the university at conferences and delivering presentations when necessary.
- Attending faculty and departmental meetings and voicing concerns or providing suggestions for improvement.
The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Jackson Memorial Taylor Breast Center are high volume clinical services, with state-of-the-art equipment, including digital breast tomosynthesis units across the system, contrast enhanced digital mammography, several US units, prone and upright stereotactic biopsy units, as well as numerous 1.5 and 3.0 T magnets with breast imaging and intervention capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate for this position will have completed a fellowship in Breast Imaging.
- Both junior faculty as well as more senior candidates with an academic record commensurate with experience, will be considered.
- M.D. or D.O., Ph. D or foreign equivalent, in medicine and eligibility for full medical licensure in the State of Florida.
- Excellence in academic achievement as demonstrated by a record of scientific presentation and/or publications.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
The successful applicant will join breast Imaging radiologists who are involved in imaging at multiple facilities. The candidate will interpret images from multiple facilities, including Jackson Memorial Hospital a 1600-bed primary and tertiary care public hospital. UHealth Tower, a private 550-bed multi-specialty hospital; and the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics including Sylvester and Comprehensive Cancer Center and its satellites. In addition, plans are underway to further expand the University of Miami footprint in South Florida in the form of additional clinics and ambulatory centers.
