Summary:
Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of the ongoing competency of clinical staff.
• Magnet recognition for nursing excellence
• Nationally ranked in Pediatric Orthopedics
• Level IV NICU designation
• Planetree person-centered care designated
Must have minimum of 3 years of experience in Pediatric CVICU
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with nursing leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s).
May perform clinical patient care when needed.
Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of all education activities on assigned unit(s).
Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance on assigned unit(s).
Serves as a consultant/mentor/change agent for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
Supports an environment that promotes evidence based nursing practice based on nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
Participates in research activities, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives.
Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

Bachelors: Nursing (Required)BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), PALS American Heart_non ecard (PALS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
Additional Job Information:
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Three (3) years nursing experience. Other Information: Department Specific: JDC- Hematology/Oncology: APHON Provider and PALS required.
