RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Controller in Bowie, MD.Job Summary:The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the organization. This role involves managing the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and developing strategies to improve financial performance.Key Responsibilities:- Controller will oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Manage the accounting team, providing leadership, training, and development
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
- As a Controller, you will ensure timely and accurate filing of all financial reports and tax returns
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and business plans
- Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory agencies
- Oversee cash management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including management roles
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
