Meet the team:
The CVC Principal will join the Dexcom Ventures investment team supporting research, relationship management, diligence, and support of portfolio companies. The CVC Principal will develop relationships with investors and startups to scout, define & develop VC investment theses, and drive post-deal value creation with startups and co-investors. The candidate will have experience working in a venture capital fund actively participating in diligence and deal formation. The inaugural Dexcom fund identifies and invests in opportunities to supplement growth in the core Dexcom business and advances pivotal initiatives in chronic disease management.
Where you come in:
- Identification - Network, research and establish relationships with entrepreneurs, researchers, and investors to identify promising technology companies.
- Interaction Management - Manage communication, action items, follow up, and meeting planning with companies and investors.
- Investment Due Diligence - Lead the Investment Team in diligence with detailed checklists, modeling, research and landscaping, and creation of investment memo and dashboard.
- Portfolio Support -Work directly with our portfolio companies on understanding their needs and identifying helpful resources and relationships
- Material Preparation - Lead deal team in preparing presentations and analyses for investment committee and other meetings.
- Portfolio Tracking - Keep records of portfolio companies and work with finance and legal teams to ensure accurate reporting.
- Lead the internal investment process for selected deals.
What makes you successful:
- Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business, or related field
- 8+ years experience at a technology or medical company
- 4+ years Venture investment experience at an investment fund, and/or investment advisory group. Identifiable transaction experience.
- Experience working with contracts and legal documents.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including written, oral, and digital.
- Exceptional relationship building skills and an established industry network
- Organizational skills and a structured approach with attention to details.
- Ability to synthesize technical, legal, and financial information.
Work Location:- This position is in person in San Diego
Travel Required: Experience and Education Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8-12 years of related experience.
- At this level a graduate degree may be desirable with 4 years of related experience

Salary:
$122,500.00 - $204,100.00
