The lab of Dr. Victoria Gershuni is seeking a Data Analyst C with experience in data / computer science to take a central role in our growing research program focused on the analysis and application of imaging-based body composition features for development of predictive risk models for surgical patients.
The Data Analyst C will be able to develop and perform complex and advanced data analysis across various research projects. This position will be responsible for planning and conducting complex analyses of large datasets containing dense imaging, -omics, biochemical, lifestyle, and electronic health record data. This position will be responsible for multiple projects including collaboration across other labs at Penn. The Data Analyst C will have opportunity for leadership within the lab of Dr. Victoria Gershuni as work continues to grow and the team expands. In addition the above, the Data Analyst C will participate in manuscript preparation, presentations, conferences, grant writing and execution, and generation of progress reports for research sponsors and the investigative team.
Position is contingent upon continued grant funding.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
The successful candidate will be independent, self-driven, and possess excellent organizational and writing skills. Ideally, we are looking for someone with strong programming background (Python, R, SQL) and willingness to do self-directed learning. A successful candidate needs to be proactive, self-driven, organized, and independent but willing to ask for help/ learn new skills when needed for the task. Our ideal candidate will need to be able to work on multiple projects and have excellent communication skills, including scientific writing. We collaborate with other labs on campus; as such, timeliness and active communication are imperative.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
