Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). Ideal candidates will live within 50 miles of the following PulsePoint location, 220 Virginia Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46204

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

The Data Scientist will be responsible for the tasks listed below.

How you will make an impact:

• Develop and implement clinical prediction models, experimental design, program evaluation and effectiveness methodologies, and statistical sampling for health plan functions. (5% of time spent).
• Perform substantive statistical analyses and reporting to improve company competitiveness, market share, operations, and profitability (5%).
• Develop and implement prediction models for member and provider-based interventions (5%).
• Conduct competitive analysis of risk stratification models and makes recommendations to management (3%).
• Design and execute care management program evaluations, including development of evaluation methodologies for measuring the effectiveness of clinical programs (3%).
• Provide technical/analytical advice to staff (7%).
• Respond to and manage ad hoc client requests to ensure accurate, in-depth results/data are delivered in a timely manner (2%).
• Prepare results for presentation to internal/external clients (6%).
• Present research findings to management and clients (7%).
• Compile results of studies for journal publication (1%).
• Research and analyze broadly defined business scenarios, trends, and patterns and develop recommendations for management (3%).
• Design and lead predictive modeling projects to solve more complex business problems developed by consultation with business partners (15%).
• Piping and processing massive data-streams in distributed computing environments such as Denodo to facilitate analysis (3%).
• Recommend appropriate batch and real-time model scoring to drive actions (5%).
• Provide oversight in development of proprietary algorithms to build customized solutions that go beyond standard industry tools and lead to innovative solutions (20%).
• Develop advanced visualization of analysis output for business users (10%).

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Econometrics, Physics, Data Science, Biostatistics or related field. Five (5) years of experience in related occupation(s).

Additional Requirements:

Five (5) years of experience must include:

• Five (5) years of experience working in a statistical or data science role.
• Three (3) years of experience with Python, R, SAS, or SAS Enterprise Miner.
• Two (2) years of experience using Git, Confluence, and Bitbucket as a version control repository.
• One (1) year of development experience with at least one of the following visualization tools: PowerBI, MicroStrategy or Tableau.
• One (1) year of experience collaborating with business partners to determine identified population segments and developing actionable plans to enable the identification of patterns related to quality, use, cost and other variables.
• One (1) year of experience with software development best practices, planning, code version management, documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
