JOB OVERVIEW:

The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for oversight, execution, refinement and continual improvement of the VanDrunen Farms/FutureCeuticals demand planning process, along with ongoing support of the daily, weekly and monthly activities of sales department team members tasked with forecast entry, evaluation, and refinement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demand Planning Process

  • Accountable for the development and delivery of the total demand plan through each Sales and Operations Planning cycle for rolling 18-month horizon
  • Responsible for setup and ongoing maintenance of data in our forecasting software
  • Responsible for working closely with the sales teams in entering an accurate forecast in our forecasting software, generating reports for forecast, and aggregating forecasts into weekly/monthly reports
  • Conduct overall monthly and yearly forecast maintenance and reconciliation
  • Conduct regular meetings with sales team members for review and refinement of sales forecasts
  • Lead the demand plan review process and drive interactions with other areas of the business to ensure that all objectives in the demand process are met
  • Responsible for working closely with the sales teams to forecast new business projects
  • Work with cross-functional teams track progress against a 5-year strategy

Team Alignment
  • Plan, coordinate and execute demand planning activities in lock step with sales management and team members
  • Schedule regular forecast review meetings with the Sales Leadership Team
  • Assists the Sales Leadership Team in developing and reviewing the sales budget and rolling sales revenue and margin forecasts including ongoing sales to budget variance analysis throughout the year
Organizational Communication
  • Prepare for and lead the Monthly Demand Meeting
  • Monitor and report on actual demand vs. forecasted demand within the current month to alert the business to significant shifts
  • Track and report monthly forecast accuracy broken down to various categories including product line, sales team.
Continuous Improvement
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement, using training and development to advance knowledge and skill across the team responsible for demand planning
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
  • Review, challenge, and continually improve the demand planning system where appropriate
  • Drive continuous forecast improvement by analyzing and diagnosing forecast issues and providing solutions to improve efficiencies

JOB EXPERIENCE:

2+ years of related experience in areas of planning, analysis, and collaboration with manufacturing operations.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Works well with a team
  • Manages time efficiently
  • Pays close attention to detail
  • Ideally possesses relevant market/industry awareness
  • Can conduct independent research
  • Strong analytical and creative skills
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerBI
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • FuturMaster experience preferred
  • Excellent collaboration skills

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
  • Demand Planning Education/Certification (i.e. IBF, ASCM) preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Sit and use a computer for a long period of time.
  • Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents.
  • Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, hand-written forms, and printed on paper.
  • Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Indoor office environment, may on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment
