Position Purpose:The Director of Engineering is a key leadership position within Facilities Operations and Management (FO&M) having primary responsibility for the Engineering Office's services, including Engineering Services, Energy Management, and the Integrated Automation Program. The Engineering Office develops, supports and/or plans projects and programs for Dartmouth's decarbonizations efforts, new facilities, energy conservation opportunities, building systems and infrastructure upgrades while assisting operations in troubleshooting and repair activities. The engineering office sets the strategy for how Building and Plant automation control systems are designed, used and integrated into the Campus Energy Management System to provide the necessary functions and data to operate the campus and to monitor greenhouse gases and energy use.
This individual works closely with and supports the other Directors in Campus Services such as the Director of Planning and Senior Director of Project Management Services, and other facility managers in the Office of Residential Life (ORL), Real Estate Office (REO), Arts and Sciences (A+S), professional schools, and other College organizations.
Dartmouth's facilities include 5.43 million GSF across 177 buildings. These facilities serve over 6,200 students and 4,000 faculty and staff in a variety of academic, research, administrative, athletic, and residential spaces.
