As a Respiratory Biologics, District Sales Manager - Syracuse NY, you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives.

AstraZeneca holds an outstanding position in Respiratory disease, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), with a range of differentiated potential medicines in development by leveraging novel combinations, biologics and devices. The pipeline also has a number of promising assets in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases within areas such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, systemic lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

What you'll do

You will provide inspirational leadership and strategic direction to Biologics Sales Specialists (BSS) in order to successfully achieve performance objectives. This role requires strong people leadership acumen to develop a successful team through effective coaching and mentoring in a highly competitive environment. The leader will demonstrate a strong understanding of the reimbursement and distribution challenges of a biologics product in order to take a strategic approach to capitalize on marketplace opportunities. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication abilities resulting in collaboration across functional areas to drive win/win outcomes that align to organizational objectives.

You will actively seek to discover and meet the needs of internal and external customers by building relationships, identifying strategic business opportunities, and delivering innovative solutions. You will manage multiple priorities and resources related to individual and group efforts. You will be encouraged to build a motivating team culture that encourages continued growth and provides consistent recognition while challenging the team for continuous self-development in their current role and for future opportunities. You will take ownership for redirecting efforts as needed to deliver high efficiency and quality of work from self and others. You will be asked to demonstrate strong business ethics, understand basic business principles and interpret resources available to make sound business decision to help achieve standards of business excellence. You will also be a proactive talent scout for the organization with proven experience attracting, developing and retaining talent.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • External candidates must have 3 - 5 years pharma management experience
  • Internal candidates must be level 3 and above for consideration
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience with track record of strong performance
  • Proven leadership capabilities, financial management, and written & oral communications skills

Desirable Requirements
  • Masters preferred
  • Experience launching new products
  • Previous respiratory, respiratory biologics, biologics, or specialty care experience with existing relationships with HCPs
  • Understanding of the reimbursement and distribution challenges of a biologics product
  • Previous exposure and/or experience in other functional areas of the business, i.e., Sales Training, Customer Solutions, Sales Operations, Managed Care and Marketing
  • Experience in health systems and large group practices
  • Demonstrated External Scientific Experts (ESEs) engagement and speaker relationships

The annual base salary (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $162,000-$243,000. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
