The hourly rate for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $29.55 - 38.30 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

We are looking for an EH&S Coordinator to join our team at our growing distribution center in Marysville, OH.

The EH&S Coordinator will be responsible for providing effective professional environmental, safety and health support to Scotts Marysville Plant associates to improve and sustain our environmental and safety culture, programs and procedures. The successful candidate will assist in the implementation of environmental, safety and security efforts for the Central Ohio Regional Distribution Center (CORD).

What you'll do in this role:

  • Assist in conducting and tracking of environmental & safety compliance audits, action items and inspections.
  • Work within state and federal safety regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Implement effective communication systems for environmental, safety and health issues.
  • Provide input to the EH&S management system.
  • Edit, audit and evaluate lockout tagout procedures.
  • Assist with the development of job task hazard analysis, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) analysis, trials and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify training needs, assist in the development and delivery of EHS training to include associate orientations.
  • Participate in and/or lead plant safety subcommittees.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring and analyze results.
  • Ensure EPA and OSHA documentation compliance with guidance from corporate EH&S department.
  • Collaborate with hourly associates and plant leadership to identify and mitigate EH&S concerns.
  • Ensure required PPE is available to associates.
  • Maintain Incident, Injury, Near Miss, and Safe Behavior documentation and follow-up on resulting action items.
  • Coordinate EH&S training sessions and compile training records in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Assist in the coordination of vendor inspections and services (fire, sprinkler, waste water, etc.).
  • Assist with data collection and preparation of environmental inspection reports.
  • Support preparation and submittal of environmental permitting reports under various regulatory programs including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Emergency Planning Community Right-to-Know Act, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
  • Record monitoring, sampling, and disposal data into recordkeeping software according to regulations.
  • Must be able to periodically work flexible hours, if necessary.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Learns new skills quickly and has the ability to train others.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to stand, stoop, bend, twist, climb and lift for the duration of the shifts
  • Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Experience working with Safety Management Systems.
  • Proficiency or the ability to learn specialized EHS software and systems such as ProcessMap, Brady 360, etc.
