Job Description Summary
This position executes or administers ongoing financial processes related to varied operations and programs conducted by the Wharton Marketing Department in support of its teaching, research, and educational mission.
Job Description
The Financial Administrative Coordinator will directly interface with faculty, staff, and students in the performance of duties which include: use of all adopted systems to hire and onboard personnel, process payroll, purchase goods and services on behalf of the department, make deposits, and generate payments. Review and reconcile expenses against operating budget on monthly basis, manage faculty research accounts and process travel and expense reimbursements.
Maintain excellent records for all funding and related expenses.
Partner with Business Manager in communicating and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Assist with preparation of ongoing reports to Wharton F&A, periodic projections, and provide input to annual budgets, financial closing exercises, and audit reviews.
Qualifications
A high school diploma and 5-7 years of experience, or An Associate's Degree (or two year college equivalent) and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Prior experience in a comparable role at Penn is significant. Experience in a university setting is helpful but not required.
Position demands excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in executing and tracking transactions for high-activity department. Requires an effective communicator, comfortable interacting with a diverse group of colleagues to bring business processes to successful resolution while ensuring adherence to internal policies.
