JOB GOAL:

The work schedule for this position is 10 hours a week, Tuesday and Thursday from 8 am - 1 pm.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Serve as a food pantry assistant. Greeting visitors in the food pantry and assist them in selecting food options available in the food pantry. In this position, it is important to create a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive environment.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support services for the food pantry, including assisting clients to check in and check out, and orienting new users to the process and system.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of community resources.
  • Assist with supply and equipment order processing and associated record keeping.
  • Responsible for the proper storage of food products and safe and secure manner consistent with health regulations
  • Stock shelves, rotate food products, and maintain product inventory
  • Manage the internal pantry operations to distribute food products to eligible individuals
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.
  • Check food pantry email and make sure online orders are ready the next scheduled day.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

    The position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping, lifting to 50 pounds. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work, lifting up to 20 pounds. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma
    • Experience with common office software and computers.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
    • Previous experience in a food pantry and or volunteer work, working with diverse communities and backgrounds.
