Position Summary
The Department of Geography at The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa invites applications for a renewable contract assistant professor (RCAP). Detailed Position Information
The Department of Geography and the Environment at The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, seeks to hire a renewable contract assistant professor (RCAP). We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who has experience teaching undergraduate physical and human geography courses at various levels, and particularly teaching large introductory courses in physical geography. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Geography or a related field. Teaching duties will include lower-division undergraduate courses in physical geography and hazards for both majors and non-majors as well as upper-division undergraduate courses in water resources including water policy and law, depending on departmental need. The primary responsibilities for this position are teaching and teaching related service, with a smaller research component. The position is structured as a renewable 9 month, 3-year contract with an annual performance review that will allow for promotion through the academic ranks.

There will be a preliminary Zoom conversation with selected applicants, after which top candidates will be invited to visit campus and asked to demonstrate their teaching in person.

Minimum Qualifications
