Responsibilities:

We are now recruiting a Head of Site Management and Installation Leads (SMIL) for Offshore Construction. The primary purpose of this role will be responsibility to lead a regional department of Site Managers and Installation Leads to ensure the safe, timely and effective execution of projects. This role reports to the Global Head of SMIL.

The Head of SMIL will ensure availability of sufficiently qualified and skilled personnel according to the offshore project road map, company and business strategy requirements. You will implement, continuously improve and optimize processes, workflows and standards to standardize execution and create a safe working environment. You will closely liaise and interact with other regional counterparts to maintain and improve a globally safe, productive and effective working environment and ensure Site Managers and Installation Leads work according to their assigned role function.

Key tasks will include but not be limited to:
  • Responsibility to ensure EHS standards, procedures and plans are implemented at project sites by Site Managers and Installation Leads to create a Zero Harm environment.
  • Ensure Site Managers and Installation Leads perform within their leading function as role models.
  • Provide support & advice during the tender process in relation to technical clarifications and documentation for installation, commissioning and review of schedules in order to allow implementation and execution at project sites.
  • Represent the Site Management function until Site Management is established in all aspects related to Site Establishment and ensure compliance with execution requirements, standards, processes and regulations, HAZIP and HAZOP.
  • Responsibility for the controlling and transparent reporting of assigned accounts and budgets of the cost centre.
  • Responsible for considering current project requirements vs. upcoming project requirements and manpower allocation of sufficiently capable and qualified personnel based on demand, requirement and request.
  • Responsibility to ensure that lessons learnt and best practices are implemented and followed throughout the department as well as for the harmonization and regular exchange of lessons learned and best practices with other departments.
  • Coach and develop the team and give individuals and groups feedback on performance and expectations.
  • Hold performance reviews that focus on the comparison and outline required training and future career development measures.
Required Knowledge/ Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • The successful candidate to be an experienced mentor with proven track record in large international manufacturing or industrial environments and possessing in-depth knowledge of managing large scale complex projects spread across multiple sites. You will be able to handle conflicts and be a solution orientated individual who can understand technical issues as well.
  • 2 to 5 years leadership experience into wind industry.
  • Ideally, you will have experience of working within the Offshore industry and have a solid clarity of the work processes at project sites. You will also be EHS focused and be able to identify risks before they happen
  • Travelling upto 30%
  • Associate Degree required.
  • To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. This role requires the ability to manage a matrix team and a range of stakeholders from a multicultural environment who are spread out globally. You will be a true leader who can direct, coach, mentor and support an experienced team to work together and ensure the embracement of company values. This role also requires making complex judgments and the ability to represent the business at management level.
  • Fluent in English, both orally and in writing, is mandatory.
  • Lastly, as this role requires you to travel frequently, you will be willing and able to travel throughout the US and the rest of the world as required.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver's license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license.
