The salary for this position is determined by multiple factors, including job knowledge, skill set and the ability to competently articulate prior experience. There is potential for overtime. Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Maintains and repairs industrial food processing equipment. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on electric motors, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.

Tasks

Locates sources of problems by observing machinery in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Trouble-shoot analysis/logical thinking skills. Removes defective parts by dismantling equipment, using hoists, cranes, as well as hand and power tools. Adjusts functional parts of machinery and control instruments. Controls downtime by contributing to the team effort, by accomplishing related maintenance as needed. Basic electric & knowledge of electrical components. Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Maintains all equipment under the direction of the maintenance supervisor. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Provides mechanical maintenance information by supplying clear and accurate information on request. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks within the shop. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. The applicant must be willing and able to bend, twist, squat, push, pull, and lift overhead with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without reasonable assistance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of (3) years of Industrial Maintenance in a manufacturing setting documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program. (Can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 3 years).
  • Applicant must have good communication skills, awareness, and ability to follow GMP and Food Safety guidelines.
  • Excellent communications skills and be able to communicate with coworkers, supervisor, and management.
  • Must be able to understand and convey written and oral communication.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Applicant must be reliable and willing to work a flexible schedule and overtime in a cold, (-30 degree up to 115 degree) wet and humid environment.
  • Applicant must be willing and able to work effectively under time constraints.
  • Have the capability to stand in one place for 30% of the shift (8+ hours per day), and the capability to walk throughout department for 70% of the shift (8+ hours per day).

Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 90 days and are limited to three (3) times of employment.
