The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute's (OSUCCC-James) mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The BMT Patient Coordinator acts as a liaison to patients and referring physicians during the cellular therapy (includes HSCT and BMT as well as other cellular therapies such as CAR t cells; NK cells, etc.) screening and preparatory process.
Position Summary
The BMT Patient Coordinator acts as a liaison to referring physicians and patients from the time of the referral to the admission for cellular therapy. The BMT patient coordinator works closely with payers and hospital financial collection specialist to satisfy payer coverage requirements. The BMT Patient Coordinator coordinates with the transplant clinicians all pre-transplant testing and clinical work up and schedules patient for admission/services at the direction of the transplant-attending physician.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Ohio. BSN required. Previous hospital experience required, previous BMT experience preferred. Knowledge of OSU and BMT Program desirable.
