Primary Objective:

Safely and efficiently assists in the quality inspection and operation of press production lines. Operates various automated industrial machinery components in the manufacturing of laminate flooring panels.

Major Function and Scope:

  • Complies with all safety rules and procedures
  • Participates in startup and operation of Press Production Lines
  • Participates in product and or process troubleshooting of routine issues
  • Assists with changeovers on all Press Lines
  • Uses reaction plans to aid in troubleshooting and inspection of production
  • Performs quality testing on finished product; including 100% visual inspection on product that is set out for testing to identify any defects, and uses master sample to ensure correct product is being run
  • Visually inspects panels and marks each defect found to ensure that it gets rejected at the finish line
  • Communicates quality issues to the press operator and shift lead, and recommends needed adjustments
  • Follows controls and procedures so that the end-product is produced to established quality standards
  • Conducts daily housekeeping and TPM responsibilities as required
  • Records material consumption and production in appropriate computer applications
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by management
Type of Experience and Knowledge:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience in a fast-paced work environment
  • 1 year of experience with automated machines
  • Basic computer skills
  • Mechanical aptitude/Machine operation knowledge
  • Problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail
Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information:
  • This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be regular exposure to noise from machinery, dust, fumes and variable temperatures. PPE will be required.
  • Other working conditions may include working 12 hours shift and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required
