What we need:

Mohawk Wood and Laminate division is looking for a passionate and driven Maintenance Manager to lead the Garner Technical team. The successful candidate will need to have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to Innovate, Create, and Grow with us. This person will be responsible for providing proactive leadership and motivation with focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost to exceed the customer's expectations. Responsible for ensuring all department goals and objectives around key performance indicator (KPI) targets are met/exceeded by driving daily continuous improvements throughout the Garner Manufacturing Facility.

What you'll do:

• Plan maintenance operations, establishes priorities and sequences for all repair and preventative maintenance services.

• Drive daily continuous improvement within critical plant KPI's (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People), by consistently tracking the appropriate measures and driving appropriate response behaviors with a sense of urgency.

• Passionately drive a high-performance work team to achieve breakthrough performance in Customer Excellence, Manufacturing Growth, Process Excellence, and a Culture of Outperformance.

• Reinforce the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) program throughout the entire facility; utilize Visual Management systems to ensure sustainment and continuous improvement of preventative maintenance activities.

• Provide hands-on leadership to drive projects and continuous improvement efforts and incorporate feedback from internal customers.

• Actively participates in process improvement, modifications, upgrades, and expansion projects for the facility.

• Works closely with management team to plan and coordinate routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance to maximize equipment availability and production output while minimizing production downtime and operational delays.

• Problem solves to Root Cause; implement corrective actions to eliminate recurrence.

• Support and foster an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging associates to challenge existing processes and implement solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the operation.

• Drive Culture Change - Lead root-cause elimination and data-based decision-making throughout the organization.

• Safety First - Stimulate and cultivate "a zero-incident mentality" throughout the facility through employee engagement

What you have:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related technical field

• 7+ years' experience Manufacturing Environment, preferable within a Process Industry; 2+ years of work experience in Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or Total Productive Maintenance)

• Ability to motivate and energize through strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong technical writing experience are required.

• Ability to synthesize data and summarize outcomes to provide recommendations on a path forward.

• Demonstrated ability to perform strategic planning, team building and operational excellence.

• Demonstrated ability to successfully execute responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, collaborating across multiple sites and stakeholders

  • Excellent time management skills, adequately managing one's own time and the time of others within the department.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, and the ability to motivate, develop and support team members.
  • Strong computer skills; intermediate/advanced MS Excel skills preferred
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
