Position Summary

The purpose of this role is to maintain and repair plant equipment, forklifts, and provide basic facility maintenance in a safe manner. Maintain system driven tracking of work orders, work schedules, and parts inventory within a specified budget. Provide plant management with status of current and future maintenance needs.

Accountabilities

Monitor and update the Upkeep system daily

  • Complete our Preventive Maintenance Schedule utilizing our Upkeep work order system on all plant equipment.
  • Accurately and timely complete all required paperwork.
  • Record all preventative maintenance and repair services performed and keep track of all materials and parts used during the repair process in Upkeep daily.
Equipment Troubleshooting, Repair and Preventative Maintenance
  • Inspect, maintain and repair industrial equipment and machinery to ensure they•re always in proper working order at the plant to optimize production and minimize down time.
  • Assist in equipment installation and startups at plant.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and necessary repair of onsite LP forklifts according to Upkeep.
Facility Maintenance and Parts Inventory
  • Maintain facility to ensure proper daily operation of work production goals.
  • Understand and maintain high standards of tidiness and organization in line with good 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practice
  • Ensure sanitation and good housekeeping practices are maintained.
  • Maintain the maintenance area in a clean, organized and safe manner following RMS and 5S practices.
  • Maintain a standard parts inventory and purchase needed parts within a specified budget.
Safety and Cross-functional Teamwork
  • Conduct all activities and perform all job duties and functions following strict adherence to established, company implemented safety behaviors, processes, and procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Work with site leadership to create and implement LEAN and equipment improvements.
  • Assist Maintenance team and plant management with special projects and daily activities as needed.
  • Coordinate and communicate with supervisors and leadership at shift changeovers and as needed.
  • Operate a forklift in a safe manner (training and certification to be provided).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and lead a diverse team, including customers and vendors within the guidance of Rehrig Pacific•s Vision, Mission and Values.
Qualifications
  • Hands on position.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs. consistently throughout duration of shift.
  • Ability to effectively perform a job requiring consistent, repetitive motion, bending, twisting, and lifting.
  • Mechanical experience with equipment including but not limited to: Forklifts, trucks and trailers, conveyors, automated material handling equipment, dock doors, and general building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance Program execution.
  • Welding and general metal fabrication skills required.
  • Forklift certification and proficiency.
  • Industrial Safety Practice experience (OSHA, etc.).
  • Effective written, verbal, and email communication skills.
  • Strong decision making, problem solving, results oriented, and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-learner.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and 5S preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and web-based program familiarity preferred.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% when needed.
  • 3+ years maintenance experience in an industrial setting, preferably in a fast-paced, production-based warehouse or manufacturing environment, including key holder responsibility.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or comparable work-related experience preferred.
