You are a credentialed veterinary technician (VEG Nurse) with expertise in emergency medicine, anesthesia skills and critical nursing. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with Regional Nursing Directors, Nursing Trainers, and Nursing Managers to organize field-level training.
  • Drive success within the Cultivate program through Nursing Trainer mentorship. Find solutions-oriented opportunities to remove barriers to leveling up VEGgies while ensuring high standards and clinical integrity.
  • Support the Credential Support Program in partnership with the Regional Nursing Directors and Nursing Learning & Development.
  • Have the ability to perform quality RECOVER BLS and ALS Rescuer workshops as a Lead Instructor, while performing in a cost and time efficient manner.
  • Deliver clinical, high level immersion experiences through hi fidelity within the Anesthesia Simulation training series
  • Champion for the change management of Hands Free Radiology, through safe and responsible training
  • Deliver Train-the-Trainer events to support in-person education for VEG assistants and nurses based on identified hospital and VEG-wide needs. Success looks like being able to reproduce these trainings in a form-factor, being able to hand off the appropriate skills training to the in-hospital Nursing Trainers.
  • Engage in self-reflection and program evaluation practices to modify and enhance the assistant and nurses training programs.
  • Ensure and continually audit any training content and activities, keeping alignment with VEGs culture, mission, and vision, and represent accurate, up-to-date emergency medicine and standards of care.
  • Propose area initiatives with the cooperation of Regional Nursing Directors, Market Owners, and Nursing Trainers
  • Discusses central program feedback to Nursing Learning & Development in concert with with Nursing Operations initiatives
  • You provide support and mentorship growth to fellow Nursing Trainers.




WHO YOU ARE:
  • A love for teaching and nurturing growth in fellow veterinary nurses and assistants.
  • Modeling the way towards a culture of learning.
  • Credentialed technician with extensive experience and ability to train in emergency and critical care nursing including anesthesia.
  • AVMA Program graduate in the study of Veterinary Technology is highly qualified, with the ability to attain state credentialing in every VEG hospital you support
  • Board certified Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in ECC, Anesthesia/Analgesia or Internal Medicine (SA) is preferred; Experience in adult education and formal instruction in educational competencies may substitute for VTS certification
  • Previous experience in a training role for both veterinary assistants and credentialed veterinary technicians
  • Comfortable mentoring others and ability to give and receive feedback from colleagues and mentees
  • The right attitude: Positive, upbeat, excited. Flexible to change (adapt and pivot)
  • Embody all things VEG and be excited to share your perspective
  • Ability to recognize and celebrate other VEGgies' successes when you see it
  • Ability to coordinate training projects with multiple teams.
  • Willingness and eager to continue to growing as a clinical technician through developing personal skills and knowledge
  • Ability to travel within regions or market up to 80% of the time, as determined by training needs
  • Attendance at VQ for regular quarterly meetings and as designated
  • Willingness to transport educational/simulation/equipment and supplies as needed throughout travels (up to 50lbs)
