** This position is on-site at our Three Rivers, MI location.
The Manufacturing Engineer role is responsible for the management of resources to support large-scale programs and manages small, medium, and large size projects for the Manufacturing Engineering Department. This position develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
Key Responsibilities
•Responsible for organizing, planning, monitoring, controlling, and scheduling the necessary activities of medium to large scale projects to achieve goals.
•Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
•Interfaces with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and/or new products. Launches, releases, approves and implements or issues engineering change requests as required to support design engineering and Operations with new and existing products.
•Leads resources and/or teams and other activities to verify and validate design changes on existing products and its related manufacturing processes as part of sustaining engineering efforts.
•Initiates and/or evaluates design control requirements and deliverables of design and/or process changes.
•Troubleshoot and analyze effectiveness of processes. Implement actions to improve equipment uptime, yield, efficiencies, and quality of production.
•Create, update and maintain routers, rework routers, process specials, and any other operational technical documents.
•Fixture and gage design to support manufacturing processes.
•Generate inspection plans for manufacturing processes in collaboration with Quality department.
•Develop program plans and track progress related to the above listed initiatives.
•Attend product development meetings and provide Operations or Sustaining Engineering input if required.
•Reply to corrective actions requests (CAR) for product and process related issues.
•Provides Design input for all desirable attributes/Design for manufacturability (DFX/DFM) input and evaluation to product development, support manufacturing by providing cost-improvement alternate product design, materials, and components.
•Supports the development and training of subordinate engineers.
•Conforms to, supports, and enforces all Company policies and procedures
•Provide other technical guidance and/ or business assistance as deemed suitable and assigned by management.
•Willingness to learn or train in the position.
•Must have the physical and mental stamina to stand, walk, lift, and adjust to the noise and lighting of the manufacturing environment.
•Other duties as assigned and not limited to just the above.

•Experience with multiple manufacturing disciplines including machining, assembly, welding, fabrication, stamping, testing, automation, etc
•Computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office
•Desirable Skills: CAD Design, CNC Programming, CAD/CAM, PLC Programming

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Physical Requirements
This position requires up to 8 hours a day of standing and walking.
