Job Description:

Perform functions to sub-assemble and install designated components at final assembly phase of HVAC and DCT unit production, working in compliance with instructions and prescribed routines, methods or procedures and involving the making of minor decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Layout and construct various product assemblies with minimal supervision according to blueprints or specifications, using the proper tools and equipment
  • Read and follow assembly specifications, bills of material and drawing sets, and identify discrepancies. Break down assembly drawings and specifications, and plan the successive steps of fabricating and assembling mechanical parts and units.
  • Assemble parts according to print including fitment, alignment and adjustment. Ensuring mechanisms are free from binding or interference and function properly, and diagnosis and repair of improper mechanical assembly or operation.
  • Duties involve close tolerance hand work and to diagnose improper mechanical assembly or operation and take the necessary steps to correct the problem.
  • Assist and train other employees when necessary
  • Maintain ISO-9001 standards
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner; support all safety and environmental rules and environmental initiatives.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives to provide ongoing continuous improvement ideas for products, process, and procedures
  • Work in other areas of the plant as may be required.
  • Skilled and experienced with using hand power and pneumatic operated tools common to the trade
  • Blueprint reading capabilities, understanding of measurements and tolerances
  • Ability to obtain forklift (license)
  • Ability to properly handle overhead cranes safely
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems; Glovia, and the rework database

Requirements:

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • 3 or more years of related experience
  • Experience or exposure to lean concepts
  • Willing to work long hours, overtime and weekend as required
  • Visual and aural acuity
  • Effective team player
  • Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor. Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force constantly to move object.
  • Daily walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing for sustained periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment
