Job Summary
The Medical Education Program Specialist provides specialized administrative support to faculty and M1/M2 medical students in the pre-clerkship courses. This includes assisting in the coordination of academic, evaluative, and administrative activities to ensure fulfillment of learning objectives and related competencies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Medical Education Course Support
• Collaborate with academic affairs leadership, college faculty and other instructional staff to plan, coordinate and support pre-clerkship instructional activities. This includes:
◦ Providing administrative and operational support.
◦ Securing facilities for instructional activities.
◦ Managing various instructional activity logistics.
- Curriculum Support
• Work with academic affairs leadership and college faculty to prepare and maintain course materials on the online learning management system.
• Manage and maintain efficient record-keeping of all course documents on Box.
• Attend regular curricular meetings, faculty and/or staff meetings, and other meetings as assigned. - Other
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships; work cooperatively and collegially with others in a manner consistent with a workplace of dignity and respect; support and engage in equal employment opportunity principles, rules, and regulations.
• Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion within the Carle Illinois College of Medicine.
• Champion positive inter-professional relationship bridging the college's private/public organization and missions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications1) High school diploma or equivalent.
2) Any one or combination totaling four (4) years (48 months), from the categories below:
A. College coursework in medical education, education, communications, public relations, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. Progressively more responsible clerical or secretarial experience, including a background in electronic word processing and database management systems.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in academic medicine administration.

Appointment Information This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 4769 - Medical Education Program Specialist position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 12/2/2024. The budgeted salary range for the position is $40,000 to $50,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.
