JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Oilfield Multi-Skilled Operator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of our oilfield assets. This position requires hands-on experience in monitoring and maintaining production equipment, ensuring the optimal performance of wells, and adhering to safety protocols.

Location: Kenedy, Texas

Schedule: 10 Days on - 4 Days Off (12Hr days) - 10 days on / 4 days off. Please note that for this position as it is full time and long term, it is essential that candidates reside within a 50-mile radius of site. Since this is a locally based schedule that permits returning home every night, there are no provisions for man-camps or housing per diem. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accessing remote locations to check wells, maintain normal operating levels, pressures and flow on separation equipment, adjusting automatic and manual controls

• Inspecting gas and oil wells, tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and attached piping components for leaks or unusual conditions and taking corrective actions

• Gauging tanks for sale or transfer of crude oil and water

• Operating and troubleshooting rental compressors, flowing gas wells, gas lift wells, testing wells and operation of sand traps and flow back equipment

• Maintaining chemical injection rates, start up, and shut in wells

• Entering production data into computer databases and reviewing outputs for correctness

• Executing new facility walk-throughs, management of changes (MOCs), and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs)

• Regulatory work including agency testing requirements, change of status, tank & meter numbering for new facilities

• Updating piping & instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and site security diagrams for all new wells and facilities

• Responding to alarms after hours or when on call

• Implementing all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures outlined in the ConocoPhillips Management System

Well Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Regularly inspect and monitor wellheads, pumping units, and related equipment.
  • Optimize well performance by adjusting pump speeds, volumes, and pressures as necessary.
Production Maintenance:
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment to ensure continuous and safe operations.
  • Troubleshoot and address issues related to production disruptions promptly.
Data Recording and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of daily production activities, including well tests, fluid levels, and equipment readings.
  • Generate and submit regular reports on production volumes, equipment status, and any incidents.
Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry best practices.
Emergency Response:
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, including equipment failures, leaks, or other incidents.
  • Implement appropriate emergency procedures to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
Communication:
  • Collaborate with other team members, field personnel, and supervisors to coordinate activities and share critical information.
  • Report any issues, concerns, or potential improvements to the relevant authorities.
Familiarity with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various equipment is crucial for an Oilfield Lease Operator/Pumper to guarantee the safe and efficient production of oil and gas. Continuous training is also necessary to stay abreast of technological advancements and industry best practices. The role of an Oilfield Lease Operator/Pumper involves working with a diverse range of equipment to monitor, maintain, and enhance oil and gas production. The specific equipment utilized may vary depending on the well type and production methods applied, but the following is a general list commonly associated with this position:

  • Christmas tree (surface wellhead equipment)

  • Beam pump (nodding donkey)
  • Progressive cavity pump
  • Electric submersible pump (ESP)
Surface Pumps:
  • Centrifugal pumps
  • Positive displacement pumps
  • Reciprocating pumps
Fluid Separation Equipment:
  • Separators (two-phase or three-phase)
  • Heater-treaters
  • Free water knockouts
Storage Tanks:
  • Production tanks
  • Stock tanks
  • Water disposal tanks
Flowlines and Pipelines:
  • Gathering lines
  • Flowlines
  • Transmission pipelines
Pressure Control Equipment:
  • Pressure relief valves
  • Control valves
  • Pressure regulators
Measurement Devices:
  • Flow meters
  • Pressure gauges
  • Level indicators
Safety Equipment:
  • Gas detectors
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
Communication Tools:
  • Two-way radios
  • SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems

  • Wrenches, pliers, and other hand tools
  • Multimeters and other diagnostic instruments

  • Pickup trucks
  • Off-road vehicles for accessing remote well sites


QUALIFICATIONS

• Current and valid driver's license

• 1+ year direct experience requiring mechanical skills, including but not limited to:

• Use, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment

• General tasks requiring physical operation of equipment and machinery

• Performing inspection of equipment and machinery

• Willing and able to perform/align with following (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions

• Work in several different geographic locations throughout a single workday

• Work both in and out of a provided vehicle

• Wear appropriate special safety equipment

• Climb heights up to 24 feet to gauge tanks

• Walk, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull

• Use hand tools to make minor repairs

• Work weekends and be on call

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Associate degree/Trade certification or higher in Production Technology, Process Technology, or other related technical field or foreign equivalent

• 1+ year direct experience in an environment prioritizing Health, Safety and Environment

• 1+ years direct experience with oil and gas production practices, equipment, and terminology

• Ability to use computers and input data in a timely manner

• Ability to react to visual and hearing signals, alarms, and instructions

• Able to meet the clean driving insurability standard requirements to drive a provided vehicle, which means a driving record that is clear of any of serious traffic violations

• Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments

• Works well with others to meet safety, environment, and production targets

• Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals

• Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
