Its vision is to achieve optimal nutrition for all people around the globe. The Department of Nutrition consists of 43 primary, 6 joint, and 22 adjunct faculty and 8 administrative staff, as well as postdoctoral fellows and research staff members. Nutrition faculty are also affiliated with several other centers and institutes across UNC that foster multidisciplinary collaboration, including the Carolina Population Center, the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, Center for Aging and Health, and the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center
