Open-Rank Faculty Position in Quantitative Methods

The Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a full-time tenure stream open-rank faculty position in Quantitative Methods.

Successful candidates are expected to teach Quantitative Methods courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish and maintain an active and independent research program, and provide service to the department, the university, and the profession. Successful candidates may have substantive expertise in American Politics, Comparative Politics, or International Relations. Candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to working with students or faculty from groups historically marginalized or underrepresented in the field through teaching, mentoring, or administration are especially encouraged to apply.

Applicants at the Assistant Professor level must demonstrate evidence of a promising research agenda and a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. Applicants at the Associate/Full Professor level must have an established record in research, teaching, and service. Ph.D. in Political Science or related field required. Target start date is August 16, 2025. The budgeted salary range for the position is $100-110,000 at the Assistant Professor level, $110-125,000 at the Associate Professor level, and $125-180,000 at the Full Professor level, for a 9-month service basis.
