JOB SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates the activities of the plant production and distribution environments to obtain optimum efficiency and maximize profits. Responsible for assembly, machining, industrial engineering, distribution, facilities, and EHS. Drives organizational objectives through subordinate managers and supervisors in these value streams. Accountable for costs, methods, processes, safety, operations, quality, and quantity of production output. Works on strategic initiatives including capital planning, cost savings, and productivity maximization. Proactively pursues continuous improvement opportunities and operational excellence in the production and distribution environment. Quickly implements remedies to issues that might prevent meeting or exceeding performance goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee operations of assembly, machining, industrial engineering, distribution, facilities, and EHS activities.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, production safety features and cost reduction concepts, while simultaneously providing production and R&D support.
  • Successfully establish and adhere to yearly departmental and capital budgets.
  • Need to operate within and maintain compliance with our ISO Quality System
  • Provide daily assistance to personnel to resolve technical issues.
  • Oversee the successful implementation of standardized processes and procedures to ensure quality products are delivered per customer requirements.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains manufacturing systems that meet the needs of the business, its customers, and suppliers.
  • Plans, designs, prioritizes and implements initiatives that result in continuous improvement of customer satisfaction, manufacturing efficiency, and profitability.
  • Coaches and directs the efforts of direct reports to develop and implement plans to continually evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of their areas of responsibility. Use the results of these assessments to improve departmental and company-wide processes.
  • Proposes capital acquisitions to ensure on-time delivery of equipment, which meet or exceed internal ROI requirements.
  • Works with Materials Manager to ensure full utilization of all equipment (i.e. machines, testers, molds, assembly equipment, bagging equipment, ancillary support equipment, etc.).
  • Structure the organization of the operating departments to enable the manufacturing of products with consistent quality, timely delivery, and competitive costs.
  • Controls and reduces the cost of manufactured products by controlling labor and overhead costs.
  • Creates increasing customer satisfaction via enhanced availability of key products, and reduced lead times while simultaneously minimizing the value of raw material, work in process, and finished goods inventory.
  • Coordinates the creation and maintenance of appropriate levels of manufacturing capacity.
  • Participates in and contributes to the strategic and operating plan processes.
  • Responsible for measurement and reporting of manufacturing metrics and cost control activities.
  • Participates in the review of product designs and specifications to ensure that new products are designed for manufacturability. Supports overall product development efforts.
  • Drives organization's safety policies, practices, programs, and initiatives. Ensures that a safe work environment is provided for all employees.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of appropriate work instructions and ISO procedures.
  • Manages personnel in a manner that creates positive morale, encourages initiative, and facilitates the attainment of employees' full potential.
  • Practice good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution or other negative impacts on the environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of relevant experience in production management.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Production Management
  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role in Production or Distribution Operations
  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques and tools.
  • Demonstrated performance in achieving cost reduction targets.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organizational structure.

  • Experience with SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Applications a plus.
