Job Summary
IU Auditorium is looking for a photographer who can capture and edit photos of various events to be used for marketing, communication, development, and engagement needs.
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Captures high-quality photographs of various IU Auditorium events adjusting to formatting specifications of marketing and communications project needs, audiences, and platforms.
- Edits and delivers photos in a timely manner based on timelines set by Audience Engagement department.
- Regularly consults with IU Auditorium staff and other key stakeholders to determine project needs and ensure photographic elements align with strategy and objectives.
- Ensures proper lighting and composition of photos in various settings.
- Most photography and editing work will require use of personal equipment including cameras, lenses, lighting, etc.
- Seeks input from Audience Engagement department and stakeholders to evaluate effectiveness of different aesthetics, lighting, images, etc.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required- High school diploma or equivalent
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred- 2 years of relevant experience
SKILLS
Required
- Proficiency in digital photography and editing software
- Basic knowledge of IU Auditorium, theatre, and/or live entertainment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to be prompt, work individually, and be comfortable in busy event settings, including directing subjects as necessary
Working Conditions / DemandsThe person in this role should be able to work in high foot traffic areas and ability to carry camera equipment while photographing events. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.
Work LocationBloomington, Indiana
Work HoursWork hours vary week-to-week based on frequency of events.
A typical multi-event week will be 5-10 hours.
Night and weekend work may be required.
