Job Description:
SUNY Schenectady County Community college is seeking a part-time Technical Specialist for the Division of Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism (HCAT). Reporting to the Dean, the part-time Technical Specialist will be responsible for performing various tasks that involve support for culinary classes. The part-time Technical Specialist will also be responsible for scheduling and supervising educational aids, work study students and student workers. May serve as a substitute when the faculty are not available as deemed necessary by the Administration. In addition, the part-time Technical Specialist will work collaboratively with the Senior Technical Specialist and the Technical Specialist/Purchaser to assure complete coverage and professionalism in the HCAT laboratories. The part-time Technical Specialist has supervisory responsibilities with staffing, scheduling, training, teaching, and incorporating proper receiving and storage procedures to the individuals working in part time positions (e.g. student workers).
