POSITION PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for the preparation and processing of various weekly and bi-weekly payrolls supporting 8,000 domestic employees. Performs duties related to payroll operations, including hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating payrolls, in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws and Company’s policies and procedures.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.



Experience


* 2 to 3 years’ experience in a multi-state payroll environment
* 1-2 years’ experience using ADP Vantage
* 1-2 years’ experience using Kronos Timekeeping



Skills


* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
* Ability to apply intermediate mathematical concepts and basic logic functions
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients in an effort to carry out responsibilities and respond to common inquiries from customers/clients or members of the business community and public. Ability to develop/deliver training presentations to managers and co-workers.
* Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in payroll
* Performs a variety of tasks
* Works under general supervision



Education


* Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field is preferred; however, relevant experience may be considered
* FPC or CPP designation preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Process various payrolls (weekly and bi-weekly) to include new hire payroll information, transfers, terminations, and LOAs
* Review employee time records and make historical edits to include corrections to time and attendance
* Setup employee tax withholding to include knowledge of reciprocity rules for multistate employer
* Process general deductions
* Calculate and update employee manual payments and reversals
* Identify and correct out-of-balance conditions
* Compile reports as required by management and government agencies
* Ensure wage and hour law compliance
* Reconcile various Payroll General Ledger Accounts
* Prepare journal entries and various month-end tasks
* Prepare various payroll reports using the ADP reporting tool (ADPR)
* Support W-2 year-end processing
* Support cross-functional teamwork
* Communicate with managers, employees and various federal, state or local agencies regarding payroll information
* Supervisory Responsibilities: Typically, this position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

* Reports to Payroll Manager
* Travel Requirements: Typically, travel is not required for this position
* The recruitment process may consist of any combination of phone, video, and in-person interviews.
* Offers may be contingent upon the successful completion of a Background Check, Drug Screen, Physical Examination, and/or potential Motor Vehicle Check.
