Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Physician Services Program Specialist to join our Physician Services department. This is a full-time opportunity based out of Capitol Hill, DC with a hybrid work model.

Reporting to a Physician Services Supervisor, the Physician Services Program Specialist will serve as subject matter expert for MAPMG’s jurisdictional licensing in Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia for new and existing physicians. You will support the license and hospital privileging processes for physicians by providing concierge support and the use of a web-based credentialing system.

You can expect to:

  • Provide exceptional service to MAPMG physicians throughout the licensure and hospital privileging process, ensuring a seamless experience by anticipating needs, addressing concerns promptly, and achieving effective resolutions
  • Utilize a web-based tracking system to manage and monitor required license and hospital privileging activities and ensures timely submission of new applications and renewals ahead of deadlines
  • Ensure accuracy in completing, verifying, and uploading license and hospital privileging applications into the web-based system
  • Collaborate closely with the Credentialing Department at Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States (KPMAS) to facilitate prompt credentialing for both new and existing physicians
  • Coordinate closely with hospitals to facilitate timely hospital privileging for new and existing physicians

What is required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with state medical licensing, credentialing and/or hospital privileging requirements
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong accuracy and attention to details
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • The ability to commute to the Capitol Hill Medical Center on an as-needed basis
  • Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
  • Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment. Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment.

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $50,676 to $63,345 depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary range above, MAPMG offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total compensation package.
