We are looking for a Pro Shop Supervisor to oversee all aspects of the golf course & pro shop at one of our RV resorts. OVERVIEW

As a Pro Shop Supervisor, you'll run the day-to-day sales, marketing and customer service operations of the pro shop and golf course, as well as the golf tournament program. You'll represent the golf course and community to our membership holders, outside golfers, groups, associations, clubs and area communities. Additionally, you'll work closely with the Activities Manager and Resort General Manager (GM) on all golfing-related issues.

JOB DUTIES

  • Market memberships within resort, as well as golfers of other area communities, resorts, clubs, organizations, associations and daily fee players.
  • Contact various clubs, organizations, associations, area communities and individuals regarding membership availability, tournaments and special rates our resort is offering.
  • Prepare comparison studies with other area courses annually to gather information on upkeep of courses, maintenance standards, course playability, and other factors impacting the golf course.
  • Collaborate with Activities department to coordinate special events for golfers (i.e. weekly groups; men's, women's and mixed league events; nine & dines; merchandise shows; welcome back or see you next year tournaments).
  • Supervise the daily condition, appearance and maintenance of cart bar, pro shop and rental carts; ensure rental carts are cleaned, charged and properly stored.
  • Enforce rules of resort and arbitrate golf rules per USGA rule book.
  • Establish budget targets in conjunction with GM for pro shop revenue and daily play (green/cart fees).
  • Stay current on pricing of other courses including daily play rates, specials, membership rates, etc.
  • Solicit, coordinate and schedule tee times for tournaments, memberships, member and outside play, and special functions; assist members with scheduling and running tournaments as needed.
  • Assist golfers in familiarizing themselves with our facility and posting scores.
  • Report and/or transmit scores to PGA as appropriate.
  • Track number of golf rounds played daily, weekly and monthly by membership.
  • Handle and resolve golfer complaints, inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Price pro shop merchandise competitively and display attractively.
  • Sell merchandise; order as needed, ensuring to stay within budgetary guidelines.
  • Coordinate merchandise sales events such as end-of-season sales, holiday-related sales, etc.
  • Market and prepare special merchandising orders for members and residents; ensure catalogues are available and prominently displayed.
  • Report all golf course and pro shop maintenance issues and concerns to facilities or maintenance department.
  • Coordinate team member selection, training, development and scheduling of direct reports and ensure all team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • REQUIREMENTS
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Minimum of 2 years experience managing or directing activities of a golf course & pro shop
    • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience, preferred
    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills
    • Good problem-solving skills
    • Professional appearance
    • Basic computer proficiency including the ability to use email and internet
