As a Consultant - Procurement, you will be responsible for applying your experience to collaborate with our Delivery Teams to deliver to our clients superior results, based upon scope of the assignment. You will be assigned to the Procurement category/work stream and collaborates with other SGS Maine Pointe resources to identify and analyze issues/inefficiencies and develop a road map for improved procurement processes during Phase I (Analysis), and/or during Phase 2 (Engagement). You will engage with the client and your SGS MP team to implement the appropriate solutions the result in quantifiable cost savings, improved sourcing capabilities and strategic procurement processes for assigned clients. This position is located in Saudi Arabia and the successful candidate will travel to Saudi Arabia on a rotation program to be determined. For this specific role, we require the Procurement Consultant to have procurement and drilling (upstream) experience.

You will:

  • Provide timely delivery against detailed study/work stream plans meeting of milestones and delivery outcome.
  • Engage clients to develop tools and processes transfer knowledge to transform strategic procurement capabilities.
  • Develop category strategies to achieve the proposed results; this may include market analysis, supplier analysis, total cost analysis and needs analysis.
  • Support execution of strategy by qualifying supplier participants, gathering detailed customer needs and executing RFXs.
  • Understand and analyze existing client procurement spend, processes, strategies, and results.
  • Establish and build effective working relationships with key client stakeholders. Be a trusted advisor to the client.
  • Identify and escalate add-on sales opportunities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in management, supply chain, engineering, operations management, business, or relevant field. Advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years of procurement strategy, purchasing, strategic sourcing, or suppler relationship management experience including experience with traditional purchasing processes with a combination of top-tier consulting firm and in-house/industry experience with a proven record of rapid career progression.
    • Experience with leading and driving complex operation transformation engagements in a customer environment where change management was critical to success.
    • Prior experience working in Saudi Arabia would be an asset.
    • Prior work experience in an implementation consulting firm.
    • Prior experience with procurement and drilling (upstream) is a must.

    • Willingness to travel extensively, up to 85%
