The Role:

As part of the Research & Development team, the Product Engineer will lead continuous improvement projects, product line enhancements, and interface with third-party agencies for proper compliance and certifications. They are responsible for managing projects and working with appropriate teams to accomplish the work to a successful conclusion.

Additionally, the Product Engineer will own the change management process and work with manufacturing and supply chain teams to maintain proper work instructions. This role, which thrives on collaboration, offers the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders from various Chromalox functions. It also supports functional roles such as product feature training, product maintenance, field support/service, and product upgrades.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the engineering lifecycle for Power Control Systems, Mechanical Assemblies & Accessories, and related products by collaborating with product management to focus on continuously improving and sustaining products throughout their entire lifecycle.
  • Work with the Engineering Design Authority to execute engineering change management for standard product lines.
  • Manage master product engineering data, including drawings and bill of materials within various systems.
  • Manage projects from concept through design and verification to product realization, coordinating with other functional departments to ensure the successful integration of the product design.
  • Partner and collaborate with supply chain to qualify new component parts and find cost savings opportunities.
  • Coordinate with third-party approval agencies and laboratory to ensure proper sample selection, testing, and conformance to industry standards.

Required Experience
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering discipline (recent graduates encouraged to apply) or technical degree with a good understanding of mechanical layout design and/or applied quality process.
  • Familiarity with computer programing logic.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including product users, production, and related departments regularly.
  • Ability to prepare and present information to engineering team members with concepts and solutions identified.
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking, working to emerging timelines.
