The Production Supervisor owns the achievement of our goals and champions our plant culture and vision through the leadership and development of their team. This role is responsible for delivering the safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people objectives through the execution of effective communication, LEAN manufacturing tools, and employee engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure the safety of your team by setting the example and by maintaining high standards for cleanliness, organization, work practices, observations, and corrective actions. Take ownership to consistently coach best behaviors and partner with the safety team to maintain up to date compliance training and adherence to our safety policies.
  • Provide hands-on leadership to your team in meeting daily KPI's through effective planning, problem solving, prioritization, and execution.
  • Establish and maintain a cross-functional staffing and training plan for your team, provide regular feedback and coaching to your direct reports.
  • Develop and maintain employee morale and motivation on your team through timely communication, team cohesiveness, and effective employee relations and coaching. Partner with leadership and HR to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Implement LEAN manufacturing initiatives under the guidance of the Plant Manager in line with our overall plant improvement strategy.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical aptitude of tools, machinery, and basic engineering
  • Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of your team, including administrating time and attendance, managing personnel and production schedules, compiling production data, analyzing trends, and completing reports.
  • Responsible for assisting with the monthly physical inventory as designated by the Plant Manager.
  • Develop understanding of the end-to-end production process in order to effectively manage daily operations, drive continuous improvement, develop and ensure standard operating practices, and provide overall guidance to your direct team.
  • Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by behaving and communicating effectively with customers, co-workers, clients, and direct reports.
  • Support continuous learning of self and others.
  • Other duties as assigned by Plant Leadership.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering or other related field preferred.
  • 5 years of management experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other manufacturing software applications.
  • Working knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing Principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates as well as plan, monitor, and schedule work.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
  • Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Occasional adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
  • Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Constant use of computer for prolonged periods.
  • Constantly thinking and processing information.
  • Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Frequent exposure to production area with airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold. Personal protection equipment is required when entering manufacturing plant.
  • Some office and frequent exposure to computer display.
