Job Title: Project Support Specialist - Reactor & Major Maintenance

Work Location: Onsite in Richland, WA

Duration: 3+ month contract

Description:

The Project Support Specialist will work independently with minimal supervision on moderate to complex tasks. This role requires technical and organizational skills, a high degree of accuracy, and independence. Responsibilities include organizing and maintaining the department SharePoint site, collaborating with project managers to track and monitor project files, ensuring Teams and SharePoint are up to date, and managing access to SharePoint project files. The specialist will perform advanced SharePoint and administrative duties for Construction and Project Management (C&PM), requiring detailed knowledge of company operations, procedures, and personnel. The role involves making independent decisions within established guidelines, planning, organizing, and scheduling work, and exercising considerable discretion and judgment. The specialist will analyze conflicting demands and make recommendations to management, maintaining a general knowledge of various capital and O&M projects. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with all levels of management and employees, guided by our core values.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Perform tasks with limited supervision, using discretion and judgment.
  • Assist Project Managers with developing and maintaining project SharePoint sites for accurate records retention.
  • Communicate with site users in person, via email, and phone to identify needs and access to sites.
  • Upload, publish, and archive documents to appropriate SharePoint locations.
  • Maintain and organize project documents, including actions and statuses, on SharePoint.
  • Provide user training to project staff and others as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to various groups.
  • Support Project Managers with project closeout procedures, including document duplication, scanning, printing, transmitting, and archiving.
  • Assist with in-processing efforts for new department and contract employees, including SSIS, processing paperwork for new hires, terminations, and scheduling training.
  • Experience with Microsoft programs, including Excel, Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Incorporate processes and procedures that support project startup and closeout phases.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Support the biennial refueling outage as designated.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in applied management, business, or project management, and two or more years of advanced administrative or technical experience OR
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university in a management, technical, or science-related field, and at least four years of advanced administrative or technical experience OR
  • High School diploma/GED and at least six years of advanced administrative or technical experience.
Desired Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or associate degree (preferably in Applied Management, Business, or Project Management) from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in the commercial nuclear power plant industry.
Required Abilities and Skills:
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in standard software and information systems, including Teams, SharePoint, and Asset Suite.
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, goal-setting, and priority management.
  • Ability to perform moderately complex tasks with minimal guidance.
  • Constructive approach to work activities and interactions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and OneNote.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, detail, and multi-tasking skills with flexibility.
Desired Abilities and Skills:

  • Knowledge of company software and programs.
  • Familiarity with Energy Northwest records management processes.
  • Previous administrative experience at a commercial nuclear site.
  • At least 2 years of experience using Microsoft Word for advanced document editing.
